Evatac Flashlight - Zoom Torch, One AA Cell
Evatac Flashlight - Zoom Torch, One AA Cell

One AA cell, and it lives in a pocket.
A small anodised aluminium zoom torch running on a single AA battery. 3.7 x 1 x 1 in and 65 g, with a deep convex lens that slides to focus, a ring of cooling fins behind the head and a steel belt clip.
A rechargeable torch is better right up until the day you forgot to charge it. This one takes an AA, which means the fix is a corner shop rather than a cable, and there is always one in a drawer somewhere. That is the whole argument for it.
What you're getting
Runs on a single AA
One AA cell, not included. No proprietary battery, no charger to lose and nothing that dies permanently after a couple of years of charge cycles. You can also carry a spare in a pocket.
Slide the head to focus
A deep convex lens moves in the head. Pushed out it narrows into a spot for distance; pulled back it opens into a flood for close work.
Cooling fins behind the head
A ring of machined fins pulls heat away from the emitter. On a torch this small that is what stops the head getting uncomfortable to hold on a long run.
Anodised aluminium, 65 g
A machined aluminium body in an anodised black finish, at 65 g and 3.7 inches long. Light enough to forget it is clipped to a pocket, solid enough not to feel disposable.

Questions
How far does the beam reach?
Our supplier copy claims zoom to 1100 ft. That is not a credible figure for a single-AA torch of this size and we are not repeating it as a spec. Expect a useful spot at tens of metres, not hundreds.
What LED is in it?
The supplier names a specific third-party emitter. We have no way to verify what is actually fitted, so we describe what we can see: one emitter behind a deep convex zoom lens, rated by the supplier at 5500K cold white.
Is it waterproof?
No water rating is documented for this torch, so we are not claiming one. Treat it as splash-tolerant and keep it out of standing water.
Does it come with a battery?
No. It takes one AA and you supply it, which also means you can choose lithium AAs for cold weather if you want to.

$24.95One-time · no subscription Add to cartThis listing deliberately omits several figures from our supplier copy. The claimed 1100 ft zoom range is not credible for a single-AA torch and is not repeated. Phrases in the source copy including virtually indestructible, freeze proof tested, rust proof and aircraft-grade are marketing language rather than specifications and are not claimed here, and no specific third-party LED emitter is claimed because none can be verified. No water resistance rating is documented. Battery not included. Do not shine it at people, animals, vehicles or aircraft.
